Flagship wine Aalto PS captures the unique character of exceptional, old vine Tempranillo grapes. 2019 is a vintage of excellent quality and lends the wine lots of power and depth. The nose offers up wonderful fresh fruit aromas of blackberry, blueberry and dark plum, atop carefully managed French oak. The palate displays typical Tempranillo flavors; bramble, liquorice and ink, with secondary notes of plum liqueur, coffee bean, fresh tobacco and sweet spices. This wine can be enjoyed now but will benefit from a time in the bottle, and will improve and gain complexity over many years if properly cellared.

Mariano Garcia was the head winemaker at Vega Sicilia for over 30 years. He later became the manager of Bodegas Aalto. Javier Zaccagnini served as the director of the Ribera regulatory body for six years. They joined forces with the goal of developing a top-tier wine in Ribera del Duero. Their mission involved 15 to 20 years of dedicated work. They succeeded in creating a wine of excellent quality, competitive with the world’s finest wines.
