A bright deep red colour with streaks of violet produced from the Tinto Fino variety.
Full and elegant on the nose, with a wide range of aromas, such as vanilla, ripe fruits, compote and syrups.
The palate is opulent and elegant with harmonious tannins providing a subtle backbone to the wine; great aromatic persistence in the mouth.
The grapes are harvest by hand and are taken immediately to the winery to the sorting tables. Fermentation takes place in wooden tanks under controlled temperatures until a good polyphenolic structure is obtained which will provide the generous colour and firm structure that makes up part of the personality of this wine; and finally the ageing of between 14 and 20 months is performed in full in new French oak Bordeaux barrels.
Once the wine is removed from the barrels, it will remain no less than 15 months in the stillness of the bottle, where it will end up assembling all the primary aromas of the fruit with the hues from its delicate ageing, resulting in an intense, complex and fleshy wine, but where the elegance is a distinguishing feature and hallmark of the winery.

Vega Sicilia
Bodegas Vega Sicilia is one of Spain's most renowned names. Their winery is located in the Ribera del Duero wine region in northern Spain. The winery was founded in 1864 and has been owned by the Álvarez family since 1982. They have introduced several changes, slightly modernized the system, and transformed the former winery into a true empire.
