Additional Information
Winemaker
Located in the Barossa Valley of Australia, John Duval Wines was established in 2003. John Duval, the founder, had rich experience in the field of winemaking as he had spent close to three decades with one of Australia’s most reputed wineries, Penfolds. The Duval family also managed quite a few high-quality vineyards. They had supplied Shiraz grapes to Penfolds, even before John quit that company to launch his own wine label in 2003. Eligo has a dark purple-red colour. Concentrated black and blue fruits with hints of earth, nutmeg and spicy, savoury oak. Layers of rich, silky dark fruits with some earthy savouriness, smoked meat and liquorice. A long, generous and lively palate defined by polished and persistent tannins. Perfumed concentration of blackberry, blueberry fruit and complex, fragrant French oak. On the palate there is a layered complexity of vibrant dark fruit and savoury tones. Impressive texture of mouth-coating tannins that provides the framework for the richness and intensity of fruit.
